All the Rave - December 2016

These heels from Nine West are hands-down the most comfortable shoes I have ever worn! I have been waiting for this specific strappy-style heeled sandal to be released in a comfortable fit. In the past the heel was always way too high for me!

The style is called "Rave" and aside from being very comfortable, I love the simplicity of this shoe. They really are the ideal heeled-sandal because they can be worn with any outfit, both day and night.

They're slightly shorter than the Martina style (which is the style of pumps I choose as my work shoe), making them easy to wear and walk in yet still high enough to lengthen your leg. I also love the support around the heel and ankle; my feet feel secure and steady. These heels fit perfectly on my feet and look so classy.  I can't rave enough about them! (Pardon the pun!).

I bought them in nude and black about a month ago and they have now been released in so many gorgeous, fresh colours for summer, and just in time for the party season. The print ones are my favourite (insert emoji with heart-eyes here).

I admit I may have gone a little overboard with buying this style in so many colours, as you can see, but when the shoes fits (comfortably)... I say buy them in every colour, haha!

Happy holidays! Peace and joy to all.

Mon Purse Please - November 2016

Mon Purse is the go-to-place to purchase European-made, quality leather handbags and leather goods. You also have the added feature of designing your own handbags and accessories as well as customising your items by monogramming them.

From backpacks to diary covers, clutches to card holders, cross-body bags to jewellery bags, wallets to iPhone accessories even make-up bags, mon purse has a wide range to choose from.

I received this gorgeous cross-body satchel –“The Uptown” as a birthday gift and I love it! The bronze colour works well with everything, so it’s versatile and the size is practical and compact, fits all I need. The leather is high quality and the finish is seamless.
I have been wearing it everywhere; to lunch and coffee dates, movies, particularly when out shopping and I don’t want to carry my typical bigger-sized handbags which tend to weigh me down along with all the other bags I’m carrying, lol! What’s more, the metallic hue and shine make it dressy and stylish for evening wear. I love that I can wear this bag with a dress or with shorts or jeans.

Mon purse leather goods will make the perfect Christmas gift for all the lovely ladies in your life.

Off-the-Shoulder Ruffles - October 2016

I am obsessed with the off-the-shoulder look and believe this style will be big this spring/summer. It's so feminine, flirty and soft yet sexy at the same time due to the show of skin on the shoulders and collarbone.

I picked up this denim-like number from Zara to wear to a mid-week birthday dinner as the weather was warm enough. I love the colour and the ruffles!

I paired it with black jeans to give it a more sophisticated and dressy look, but the top looks great with blue denims and nude heels. I cant wait for the warm weather to settle in (permanently) so I can wear it with tailored white shorts or white jeans - ultra chic.

Happy Friday everyone!

Black and Gold - September 2016

By this point in the month you'd think you were done with the chunky coats and woolly scarves and be in blazers and tees. Not so in Sydney! Surprisingly, it is still too cool for just a blazer, but surely it's bound to warm up any time soon - preferably very soon! In any case, I have been on the look-out for the perfect transition blazer, especially one with gold-tone buttons and am pleased to say I have found one!

This black, double-breasted blazer is from Forever New and is a great buy. It’s a tailored fit, so contours to your body creating a flattering shape. It is also fully lined so, it’s comfortable to wear. The thing that surprised me most though is the quality; it definitely looks, as well as feels, a lot more than its $100 price tag.

For me, a black blazer, especially one with gold-tone buttons is a closet staple due to its classic cut and versatility. The gold buttons add an air of class and authority to your outfit as well as some flair. You can create so many different looks with this slick blazer. For example, it looks equally as good in the office paired with an A-line skirt or tailored trousers, a white shirt or cami and classic pumps or strappy heels for a professional look or teamed with jeans or shorts and a white t-shirt for casual chic.

Skincare routine - August 2016

I've always had super sensitive skin, and as I have gotten older its sensitivity has only heightened! (sad face). So, it goes without saying I have experienced much difficulty finding products that my skin can tolerate. Even some products designed specifically for sensitive skin, including the organic kind, have been too harsh for my skin. I've lost count of the months on end I've gone without using anything for fear of the implications of using something new.

Over the years, in a bid to manage and reduce my skin sensitivities, I modified my diet, eating only clean, fresh, nutritious foods and eliminated alcohol - every, single, little drop (which was how much I used to drink anyway, lol). Whilst my skin improved significantly, my skin care products were still causing irritations.
After several years of trial and error, following a recommendation from a friend, I am happy to report I have finally found a skin care routine that works for me. Yay!

I will pause here and state, I understand these products may not work for everyone but they work for me, so I wanted to share in case they are good for your skin too.

For the past two years, I have been using Dr. Hauschka products as they are gentle on my skin. I use this cleanser and moisturiser and I have also used some of the night creams. However, I recently discovered these amazing products from Natural Instinct. These products are made from natural ingredients, without any harsh chemicals such as sulphates, parabens, artificial fragrances and colours, propylene glycol, silicones, PABA and EDTA, mineral oils and other potentially harmful ingredients to you and the environment. I have been using these products for one month now and am very happy with the results. They leave my skin hydrated and feeling so soft in the mornings. More importantly, they don't cause irritations. Plus, they are Australian-made therefore, significantly cheaper than foreign-made products.

Bear in mind, with any good skin care regime, I recommend always removing make-up each night and thoroughly washing your face. Firstly, I wipe off my make up using a wet wipe - this means you will be using less cleanser on your skin. Next, I remove my eye make up using Jojoba Oil. This is the absolute best thing I have ever used! It is such a gentle and effective way for removing eye make-up, especially because the skin around the eyes is so delicate. Simply add a few drops to a wet cotton wool then gently massage back and forth over the eye. You may even use it to remove all your make-up but I prefer to just use it for my eyes. After that I cleanse my face to remove any excess make-up, pat dry then apply the eye cream and moisturiser. I have to say this eye cream is miraculous!

In the mornings, I don't do much except wash my face with water, apply my eye-cream and moisturiser before putting on my make-up. I don't actually cleanse my face again in the mornings because I don't feel there is any need. I like to keep things simple because that's best for me and my skin. I also don't feel there's any point using unnecessary products such as a toner and clogging my pores.

Finally, you cannot underestimate the benefits of water in keeping your skin soft, hydrated and supple. Aim to drink at least 2 litres of water every day and ensure to get 7-8 hours sleep each night.

High-waisted shorts - July 2016

I know we're right in the heart of winter in Australia, and in Sydney this winter has been icy cold. Nonetheless, there are places to be and people to see; you still have to attend functions and get out and about even in freezing temperatures, so why not do it with some style and panache?

I have repeatedly expressed my love for wearing items that are unique and have a little bit of flair. On that note, I bought these stylish leather-look, high-waisted shorts from Sheike. I opted for the tan because it’s a great colour to wear in winter, as an alternative to black, and can then be easily transitioned into the Spring/Summer seasons paired with lighter shades, but they are also available in black (and look ultra-chic!) for those who wish to play it safe.

The shorts are a little baggy in their cut making your legs appear long and slim, and are fitted without being tight around the waist due to the elasticated stretch waistband and adjustable waist tie, so feel really comfortable on. Plus, they are fully lined.

I like wearing shorts in the colder months because you can dress them up with thick sweaters and jackets, even a trench coat for a trendy twist and create various looks to get the most out of your items.

For a girls' night out I paired the shorts with opaques, knee-high boots and a fitted cold-shoulder top to balance out the high waist and relaxed fit of the shorts. Just don't forget your coat! ;-)

All about leather – June 2016

Ok, I admit it - I am (slightly) obsessed with the leather-look this year! Some of my favourite leather-look pieces have been purchased from Sheike.

This slim-fitted, short, black leather-look skirt is such a hot little number! It fits well and is so versatile. I want to wear it all the time! I also bought it in the nude colour! (like I said - OBSESSED hehe)

My knit is an old one from Cue but I love the copper shades against the black leather. There are so many ways to wear this skirt, but I suggest pairing it with a sexy sweater and ankle boots to be on point this season.

Linked below are some knits that I am loving at the moment and that would look great with this skirt:

Knits: Ruffle detail knit (love this!); Chevron knit; Colour block knit; Graphic strip knit; Block stripe knit; striped off-shoulder knit; knit; ruffle-neck knit – Leather-look skirts: here; here

In the Navy – May 2016

One of my favourite colours for this autumn/winter season is navy. I love wearing this deeper, darker shade of blue in the cooler months because it is a softer alternative to black, which means it's not as dramatic yet still makes an impact. It also means I won't get lost in the sea of black that descends over the city in winter (lol). There is something so sophisticated and flattering about navy. For me, it exudes a sense of confidence and authority - that's why the police and military dress in this colour!

I already own this stylish skirt in tanso when it was released in navy I immediately snapped it up. The skirt is a high-waited, midi-style and has the best shape to it; fits perfectly to your body and creates the sexiest silhouette. Plus, it's so comfortable on.

Here I have paired it with my snake print shirt and snake print pumps for a slightly edgy look but, it is such a versatile colour it will look great with so many colours. I especially love it with nude or beige, white, cream any and all shades of pink from blush to fuchsia and I cant wait to wear it with baby blue. So many possibilities!

I hope everyone has a fab weekend. It's the last one for autumn.

Sweater Weather – Not! – April 2016

Here in Sydney, the temperatures of late have been so mild with gorgeous sunny days it feels like Spring. In fact, this autumn has been so warm most retailers are holding frequent sales in order to entice people to buy their winter stock!

I love staying warm in the cooler months by wearing cozy sweaters, particularly ones that are stylish and different from the rest, like this one from Sportsgirl. What’s more, I am absolutely crazy about cut-out shoulders this season! (well, all cuts-outs really!). The grey colour I have is sold out but the orange is still available.

The style of this sweater with the curved hem is very flattering, contouring to your body without being clingy or fitted and the exposed shoulders add a touch of ‘casual sexiness’ to your look. Who would have thought a sweater would be sexy!

I just need the cooler temperatures to set in!

Shirt-style dress - March 2016

Over the last few weeks in Sydney, the cool autumn change has come through (along with lots of unexpected rain). Whilst the rain has stopped - for now, temperatures are much cooler than they have been. That’s okay because I have been waiting to wear this sexy long-sleeved, laced-up, shirt-style dress from Sheike.

Initially, I was concerned the lace-up feature down the front of the dress would be too revealing especially seeing as the length exposes a whole lot of legs, but thankfully it all balances out in a feminine and classy way. In fact, the lace-up adds a touch of sexiness yet the dress still covers a lot of skin. I love the lynx pattern and the combination of colours and it's so easy to wear and feels really comfortable on. Plus, the dress is lined on the bottom-half. It will look hot with opaques and heeled ankle boots in winter time. Best of all, it's currently on sale!

White and Snake – February 2016

For those of us living in the southern hemisphere, there are only four official days left of summer (sad face). We’ve had exceptionally warm, sunny days in Sydney these past few weeks, so I have been trying to make the most of the gorgeous summer weather by wearing my brightest of brights – all white.

For this look, I paired my textured shorts with this slim-fitted crop blouse. I love this blouse. It’s so soft and flattering and versatile; you can create so many outfits with it. Normally, I would pair an all-white look with gold accessories but this time I completed the look with snake-print pumps and clutch. This is such a simple yet sexy outfit and so perfect for summer.

Even though summer is coming to an end I am looking forward to what autumn brings.

Accessorise your look - January 2016

I love accessorising for several reasons.

First and foremost, accessories can instantly transform an ordinary outfit into something interesting. Secondly, accessories allow you to change up your trusted, versatile basics to create numerous different and unique looks, giving you more variety. As a result (and thirdly), you get maximum use of the items you already own, so there is less of a need to buy more clothing, saving you money. Fourthly, you will save time with less effort spent figuring out what to wear and piecing together new ensembles. What’s more, with all the original outfits you’ll be creating and wearing, you will stand out from the rest - you won’t be just another suitably-dressed woman in the crowd. Finally and more importantly, you will look good and in looking good you will feel good and radiate confidence and be happy with yourself hence, appear more attractive.

Accessories are also a great way stay up-to-date and look fashionable without having to spend large amounts of money.

I love these gorgeous pumps from Nine West. The striking black-and-white striped pattern contrasted against blue and beige is so chic, and the glitter on the toe-tip adds glamour. For me, these shoes are the perfect accessory as they can be paired with almost any ensemble and the colours and design allow for all-year-round wear.

For this look, I wanted the shoes to be the main focus so I kept my outfit simple – black pencil skirt and white top. These pumps certainly change up my look making my outfit trendy and more exciting.

Here's a little secret: if you want to look stylish, you don’t need to buy more clothes, you need to buy more accessories!
