All Dressed Up!
Whilst it’s still warm out,
there’s now a chill in the morning air which wasn’t there a few days ago. For
us in Australia, summer is coming to an end and it’s time to start transitioning
into warmer items for the forthcoming autumn months.
On that note, Cue just released
new styles from their Autumn/Winter 17 campaign. It’s nice to see bright
colours and designs injected into their clothing this season – it’s fresh and
eye-catching and certainly differs from the standard monochrome and dark colour
palettes we typically have available during the colder months. Also, for me, the
vibrant hues make getting through those chilly and dreary months all the more
easier!
I especially love all the floral
prints; they’re so pretty and feminine. This dress in particular is my absolute
favourite from the campaign. I saw it on the mannequin, loved the lotus print
and had to try it on.
To be honest, aside from the colours and cute, frilly sleeves I wasn’t sure the shift-style would fit right. I thought it would look somewhat shapeless on me… but once I put it on - WOW! I loved it! I loved everything about it – the material (so soft), length (short enough to reveal some thigh but long enough to cover up, looking both sexy and classy), pattern (because flowers make me happy and the lotus floral print is unique and evenly positioned over the dress, so not overwhelming), colours (lively and pretty) and the sleeves (cute, fluted design). Plus, the dress is fully lined and has an invisible zipper at the back.

Like all Cue Clothing, it is of high
quality and well-made with the zipper sitting neatly along your back. More importantly, it is Australian-made.
Like I said, my main concern was
the shift-style looking too boxy and just falling shapelessly on me, but this
design and satin crepe fabric tapers nicely to your shape, cinching slightly at
the waist then softly dropping around your hips and down the length of your body, creating an hourglass figure.
I am so happy with this dress!
Personally, I think it is the perfect dress
to wear on a date with strappy heels and a clutch. It will also look stylish and
professional in the workplace paired with pumps. The sleeves and length are ideal
for autumn weather whereas, in the winter months it will look ultra-chic with
opaque tights and ankle boots. I intend to wear it to an upcoming christening I am invited to - it’s very appropriate.

can have anything you want in life if you dress for it." ~ Edith Head
