Tropical print shorts - October 2018

The warm weather is finally upon us here in Sydney (yay!), so I just wanted to post about these sexy shorts I bought a few weeks ago from Sheike, which I think are ideal for summer.

They're high-waisted and a loose fit, so they're very comfortable and lightweight for the warmer months. I love the blend of the rich burgundy and green hues. I intend to pair these with a green cami like this one here or here (which I didn't find in-store at the time I bought the shorts), or else your classics like white and black for example, this one will also work well. Add nude heels and accessories to complete the look and you're ready and looking swanky for a catch up over some food and drinks in the late afternoon or evening.

Happy Halloween everyone!

Ps.This witch can be bribed with chocolate (preferably 90% Lindt hehe).

Swing Skirt for Spring - September 2018

Good morning everyone!

September has been a crazy, busy month for me so my apologies for not being able to post earlier. Winter seems to be lingering...with several icy-cold days still showing up, which means I am still wearing a coat most days! Argh! I can't wait for the weather to warm up!

Anyway, I wanted to let you know about this leopard, swing skirt I bought a few days ago, and is currently on sale! (David Jones has up to 50% off fashion, shoes and accessories at the moment). The brand is By Johnny and I am absolutely in love with it!

This skirt is my favourite for transitioning into the warmer weather with its combination of white, black and soft latte tones. I absolutely love the swing style - it makes me want to twirl each time I wear it, haha! It's cute and so feminine and will work well with black, white and nude.

It's also very versatile - you can wear it with tights, ankle boots and a black top (even a black beret or hat) for a fresh, stylish look on cooler days, and then switch out the black for a white top and nude shoes and accessories on warmer days.

Florals and balloon sleeves – August 2018

For those of us living in Australia, we are into the last month of winter, but there have been days where you can feel Spring in the air.

Most of the stores here have already brought out the first drop of their Spring stock. I recently bought this gorgeous dress from Sheike. I am a little obsessed at the moment with the balloon sleeve (insert heart-eye emoji here, haha!). This dress is so sexy and feminine with the floral print and one shoulder. It is a fitted style as it’s cinched at the waist, but it’s not tight because it’s an A-line cut and fits true to size. NB: I bought the size 6. Plus, the length is perfect; not too short.

This dress would make a perfect date night outfit or to an event/function, or even to wear out for dinner with friends. I can’t wait to wear it!

Animal print blouse - July 2018

Of all the animal prints, leopard is my absolute favourite. Most likely because it's chic and always in style no matter the year, no matter the season. In particular, the ocelot print – in this case the solid black spots against the creamy background, gets me every time! It differs slightly from the traditional leopard print of dark brown, tan and black and I think it looks classy and is timeless. That’s why I am so glad Witchery have re-stocked this shirt! I missed out the first time around and the moment I saw it available on-line, I didn’t dare hesitate in buying it as I wasn’t going to miss out again!

This shirt feels so nice on because the fabric is really soft and looks great. What’s more, it is super versatile, probably the most versatile shirt you'll own after a classic white one. The cut is polished enough and the fabric is silky enough to be worn to work with a slim black skirt. Personally, I would also pair it with a maroon or navy skirt for a trendy, edgy look. The material is lightweight and the light, creamy background make this shirt the perfect transitional piece into Spring. The best thing though is you can style this shirt so many different ways, especially casually. I love it paired with black denim jeans, a blue denim jacket and loafers (white, black, natural or metallic) for a casual yet stylish look, or else simply with black tights or black jeans and ankle boots.

The shirt does run large so be sure to drop down one size, and I have just looked and some sizes have already sold out on-line, so be quick.

Burgundy and Blush - June 2018

I wore this outfit to a christening over the weekend and received so many compliments about my dress. The dress is from Sheike and is so flattering for any body type as the cinched waist creates nice lines and curves. I love the colour and style! Burgundy (or wine given its colour is listed as merlot 😉) is so on-trend for the Autumn/Winter season and the one shoulder-sleeve – oh la la! I love it! Hehe. I was worried I wouldn't be all that warm in this dress especially since it's been so chilly here but I was fine. I also love the gathered frill across the front left side and asymmetric hemline. It’s one of those dresses you have to have in your closet because it is perfect for a function or date night - sexy and stylish yet classy and appropriate.

I love pairing burgundy with blush; the soft light pink shade contrasts against the deep red-brown, highlighting its warmth, so I paired it accordingly with blush accessories.  These patent pumps are from Nine West and are on major sale at the moment – an extra 30% off the sale price! I wear the Martina heel for work every day because it is so comfortable yet long enough to add height and still elongate the legs. As for the earrings – in love! They are from Lovisa and like my dress, I received so many compliments about them and they matched perfectly with my shoes and bag. Plus, because they are a neutral shade they can be paired with so many other outfits, particularly in the warmer months. I have attached a photo of my accessories.

With the dress, I had to go up one size as it is a small make. It would also look amazing with black ankle boots for a more casual look such as, for a date night or dinner with friends. I highly recommend it!

Black Glitter Sock-Boots - May 2018

Those of you who read my blog or follow me on Instagram know I am a fan of Nine West shoes. I buy almost all my shoes from Nine West mainly because they fit well, but also because they are good quality and of course, on-trend. I always seem to find styles that are chic and unique, like these boots.

Last week, Nine West had 25% off so I popped into the store to buy a pair of flats and ended up also buying these sexy boots. Always the way isn’t it - you go in for ONE pair and walk out with three! That said, I did want a sock-boot for winter and this sparkly pair caught my eye. The moment I put them I knew I was not leaving without them! If you look closely they look like a pump with a sock – like a witch’s boot hehe! I love them – the sleek sock design, the block heel and of course, the GLITTER! (insert heart-eyes emoji).

I know there are some of you who are undecided about the sock-boot, but I personally recommend this style. Unlike traditionally cut ankle boots that is, straight across the ankle, the sock-style is very flattering, covering the ankle and stopping a few centimetres above, like a sock so they have a fitted look. I wore them over the weekend and they look so nice on and are very comfortable. The style is called Stockchen.

As I mentioned earlier, I initially went in for a pair of flats and did buy this gorgeous pair. The style name is Speak Up, which I have in the Rose Gold but since I leave them at work, I needed a second pair for home. I love anything reptile/snake-print and with the gold and charcoal colour combo…well, it really was a no-brainer!

Favourite Beauty Products

Hey everyone,

For this post, I thought I'd share my all-time favourite beauty products.

I have been using these items for years now and they have become my trusted basics.

Wet Brush Pro I love this brush! It is the best brush I have ever used because it easily detangles your hair, even curls whilst being ever so gentle, so there's minimal damage. I find the Pro better than the original due to the flexible bristles that simply glide through your hair. I bought mine from my local hairdresser, but they are all over the internet and are a great price!

Pur Minerals HydraFluid Foundation and concealer I first used Pur Minerals foundation just over four years ago when I wanted to switch to using clean, natural ingredients, and my best friend got me onto Pur Minerals and I haven’t looked back since! Pur Minerals products are of high quality and glide on seamlessly. I loved their 4-in-1 liquid foundation from my first use but only started using the Hydrafluid, water-based serum foundation about 1.5 years ago. It is a lightweight formula, so you don’t get that thick, cake-y look yet provides great coverage, giving you a smooth, flawless, almost dewy finish. I'm so happy that Myer now stocks Pur Minerals as I previously had to order online, and more often than not had to wait and wait and wait until products were restocked (they would sell out fast!).

I really can’t boast enough about Pur Minerals products, so naturally I also use their concealer. Both products are easily blendable and buildable for greater coverage. I have even used their eye-shadows and lip-glosses and recommend them. That said, I haven’t used their glosses in a few years and back then they had limited colours. Nowadays, I use Bare Minerals lip-glosses – which brings me to my next two products…

Bare Minerals Gen Nude Powder Blush and Lip-gloss – Ah, what can I say about Bare Minerals blushes and lip-glosses except, I love this stuff! I use the Bare Minerals Gen Nude lipsticks and glosses daily – my favourite lipstick colour is “Tutu” and lip gloss is “Can’t Even”. The only reason I didn’t include the lipstick in this post is because I have talked about this lipstick already and didn’t want to be repetitive. Gorgeous colours in both the lipsticks and glosses and the formula is smooth and creamy.

As for the blush, I use the shade called “Call my Blush” (cute title!) daily. It’s soft enough to wear during the day and you may layer it for the evening. Like their lipsticks, the formula is lightweight and long-lasting.

Jojoba oil – If you only buy one product, make sure it is Jojoba oil! I use this oil to remove my eye-makeup because it is very gentle as well as nourishing for your skin. Not only does the oil penetrate deep into the skin, keeping your skin hydrated, it contains powerful antioxidants, Omega 6 and 9 essential fatty acids and Vitamins A, D and E. Plus, it’s naturally anti-bacterial, anti-inflammatory and hypo-allergenic, making it suitable for all skin types. I have super-sensitive skin so I am very careful about the products I use, and this oil is just so good. I also gently massage the oil onto my entire face to keep my skin moisturised and feeling soft.

Nude by Nature Natural Illusion Eyeshadow trio – I use the “Nude” trio every day and just adore these natural shades. I can honestly say I use every single colour. Normally when you buy a compact of eyeshadows, you don’t use all the shades. You intend to and say you will, but never do. That is not the case with this trio. I use each shade daily and can honestly vouch this eyeshadow stays on all day long! It’s also the perfect pack for travelling.

Hourglass retractable foundation brush – This brush has been an absolute convenience for me as I have been travelling back and forth to Melbourne for work over the last few months. It is a little pricey however, there are cheaper alternatives on the market.

Always on time - April 2018

The weather in Sydney has been remarkably hot for this time of year. It seems Summer just doesn't want to let go - which is fine by me ;-)

I have been wearing my new Daniel Wellington watch every day since I bought it. I am sooo happy petite watches are on trend this season, as the size really suits my small wrists and arms. Plus, the smaller face and slim rose gold band looks elegant, making it suitable for both day and night wear.

Furthermore, the white face against the rose gold band is so fresh, and wears well with almost everything I pair it with. Given the warm temperatures, I have been wearing a lot of light and bright clothing hence, this watch has been the perfect finishing touch to my outfits.

I purchased mine from Myer and the style is called Classic Petite Melrose, size 28mm. It also comes in the black face.

High-waisted suede-like skirt

What a change in weather - from a warm and sunny day yesterday to wet and gloomy today!
Given the cooler temperature I thought it appropriate to wear my new skirt from Sheike.
I only just bought it a few days ago and loved it when I tried it on. It's a high-waisted style, suede-like fabric in a burgundy shade, with an overlay feature across the front. It fits like a glove, perfectly contouring to your body, but because the fabric is so soft and stretchy the skirt is not tight, just fitted. Ps. The snug fit really accentuates your curves! Plus, it is the perfect length, stopping right on the knees.

For work, I prefer the longer length as it looks classy and elongates your legs. For today's look, I paired this skirt with my blush-coloured cold-shoulder top. I really love the combination of blush and burgundy; will definitely be wearing this colour-combo more
throughout the coming months. The burgundy shade is such an Autumn/Winter colour you can have this skirt on repeat, pairing it with white, black, beige, all shades of pink, navy or cobalt. Either way, you'll definitely get your money's worth from this skirt!

Frills and Animal Print

Good morning everyone!

For today’s look, I paired the black-and-white animal print skirt I purchased recently from Witchery, with my white cold-shoulder, trapeze top from Cue - which is currently on sale (down to $77!, also comes in black). This is one of my favourite outfits because it looks so feminine and sexy. As the skirt is short, I balanced it out by wearing a top with a scoop neck, with my only my shoulders exposed. I completed this look with my red pumps for a pop of colour.

This skirt also looks classy with black. I like it paired with this layered cold, shoulder top that I purchased last week from Cue - and is now on sale!

Autumn Styling - March 2018

So, I was intending to post this last week, on the last day of summer but I got caught up with work and my studies… On a positive note, most of the Autumn fashions have hit the stores and there’s so many pretty, feminine pieces. Frills and lace seem to be the dominant theme this season – happy days! haha

Witchery had 20% last weekend and I managed to buy a few items I really liked.

A cute black skirt is a staple and wears well over Autumn and into Winter. This textured skirt, with its double-ruffled hem is so darling. It’s a great buy as you will be able to create a variety of looks with it. In winter, it will look hot with opaque tights, a white shirt and ankle boots. Note: it is short, stopping mid-thigh and fits true to size. NB: I am wearing the size 4.

I also bought this wrap-ruffle skirt. I love this skirt - I mean frills and animal print, enough said! The cut of this skirt is super sexy! It is longer at the back and inches up slightly on the front right side, exposing a bit of thigh…I think it’s the ultimate skirt – you can wear it casually with a t-shirt and boots or sneakers or dress it up for work. It fits true to size. NB: I am wearing the size 4.

Another buy was this sexy tiered-sleeve lace top. I am obsessed with everything lace; it’s so romantic and feminine and of course, sexy! Normally, lace tends to itch my skin but this fabric is really soft. I adore the tiered sleeves – adds an extra touch of femininity to the top. The cami underneath is included, and the top is a fitted style but not tight. The great thing about lace is you can glam up your casual look of denims. NB: I bought the size 6.

This pretty top was another one of my purchases. The bubble sleeves are so cute and different, and the colours and floral print are really pretty for Autumn; soft and feminine. I love wearing light colours, even in winter so this top is perfect. NB: I bought the size 6.
Have a great week everyone!

Red Floral Dress

Happy Monday everyone! Wishing you all a great start to the week.

I found the most gorgeous dress from Cue! It's a vibrant red colour with pretty flowers scattered all over in shades of white and blue as well as subdued tones of orange-y/brown. I love the pairing of the two primary colours, blue and red, together and the stark white flowers against the red background really stand out.

The crepe material is so soft and the dress is a comfortable fit without being tight, sitting nicely along the shape of your figure. It is also fully-lined and of high-quality. I wear a lot of Cue clothing, so I will vouch for the quality. Of course, it all depends on the fabric, but I have dresses from Cue dating back five years which I still wear. The wide frill hem and belt add that extra touch of femininity.

I know it's a little on the pricey side, but the style itself is a classic cut as is the print and colour scheme, so  you'll definitely get your wear out of it.

It's also very appropriate to wear to work on Valentine's Day (insert heart-eyes emoji) ;-)
